The Heritage Alliance is now accepting nominations for its annual Regional Preservation Awards recognition program. The awards celebrate those projects which best exemplify historic preservation efforts at work in Jonesborough, Washington County and the entire region.
The awards also recognize the individuals, groups, and organizations who are working to significantly advance the cause of historic preservation in our communities. Over the past seven years, nearly two dozen buildings, individuals and groups have been honored for their efforts to help protect the historical, architectural and cultural treasures of the region.
Those interested in nominating a project, individual, or organization for a Regional Preservation Award should visit the Alliance’s website to download a nomination form, or pick one up at the Alliance’s office at 212 East Sabin Drive, Jonesborough.
Awards will be presented in the following categories: Outstanding Exterior Restoration, Outstanding Interior Restoration, Outstanding Adaptive Reuse, and Organizational Excellence in Preservation. The Bernard and Audrey Kaiman Award for Excellence in Preservation Advocacy will also be presented.
Completed award nominations should be postmarked or dropped off at the Alliance office no later than Monday, April 1. A selection committee will review all nominations and ultimately determine award distribution. A ceremony honoring the selected recipients will be held in late May.
