Keenburg played with the heart of a lion, but Unaka would end up devouring the prey.
The Lady Jr. Rangers fought off a pesky den of Tigers to win 37-21 after trailing by three at the half. The Unaka boys coasted to a 40-18 road victory on Thursday.
The Lady Rangers had won with ease in their last meeting, but this time it would take a maximum second-half effort and some full-court pressure defense to finally get them inside their comfort zone.
“We got in foul trouble early, so it took us out of game plan initially,” said Unaka coach Lacey Oliver. “Keenburg has improved leaps and bounds, so give them credit. It was a tough game against a good ballteam. I honestly think we might have stole one.”

The Tigers were missing one of their key players and rebounders, and it showed against the aggressive Rangers.
Unaka had two players record double-double while running its season record to 8-8.
Tyler Lewis (15 points, 12 rebounds), Austin Beauprez (11 points, 10 boards) scored a pair of early baskets each to vault the Rangers to an 8-0 advantage after one.
