EHS wrestling team loses to Morristown East

A game but undermanned Elizabethton Cyclones wrestling squad dropped a 54-22 match with Morristown East on Monday night at Treadway Gym as EHS was forced to forfeit seven matches to just two for the Hurricanes.

Though depleted with injury, head coach Jeff Nye feels the Cyclones’ best wrestling is ahead for many on the team.

“(Seth) Malone had a good match,” said Nye. “He’s my 106, but he wrestled at 113 tonight. Overall, I feel this team is getting better, and when we get some of the injured ones back, we will be that much stronger.”
