202 homes sold, 51 foreclosures reported in Carter County this year

The average price for previously owned single-family homes in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia continued improving in July as the number of homes sold showed a slight softening.

The housing market trend line measured by the less volatile year-to-date metric shows continued improvements for both sales and prices when compared to the first seven months of 2011 and 2010.
